A PRACTICAL BRIEF

Before you change anything

Check model compatibility, device lock status, account eligibility and Wi-Fi access. Keep the old SIM until the new connection calls, texts and uses data. If a transfer fails, contact the provider through its official help page.

When eSIM goes wrong

A previously scanned QR code may not work twice. Avoid repeatedly deleting profiles, and keep a screenshot of the error without sharing private activation details publicly.

What to take to the provider

Have the tariff name, start date, current bill or usage screenshot and the exact question ready. You can ask our independent team to help frame those questions, but only the network can see your account or process changes.

For switching rules, see the Ofcom guide. For plan terms and charges, use your network’s current official documents.
